Our Mission

The Winter Park Health Foundation (WPHF) is a private philanthropic organization dedicated to improving community health across Eatonville, Maitland, Winter Park, Florida, and beyond. Since becoming WPHF in 1994, we have invested more than $132 million to support organizations and projects that create meaningful solutions for health needs.

We believe thriving communities are built not by chance, but through shared purpose and long-term commitment. Crosby Wellness Center is a central way WPHF works to meet our mission, offering state-of-the-art fitness spaces and accessible rates that make it easy and enjoyable for our members to prioritize caring for themselves.

Our Roots

When the Peggy & Philip B. Crosby Wellness Center opened in 1989, the Winter Park Health Foundation served the community as the Winter Park Memorial Hospital Association (WPMHA) — owner and operator of the hospital that is now AdventHealth Winter Park.

WPMHA built the original Crosby Wellness Center as the area’s first and only medically integrated fitness facility. For a hospital to focus on wellness and prevention in the late 1980s was incredibly innovative, and those goals guide Crosby to this day.

Our Footprint

After 27 years, WPHF closed the first iteration of Crosby Wellness Center in 2016 to make way for Crosby’s current home, the Center for Health & Wellbeing (CHWB)

Opened in 2019, the 80,000-square-foot community health hub, which WPHF co-owns with AdventHealth, combines services and programs for Wholeness, Fitness, and Medicine in one convenient location.

CHWB is another vital and visible example of WPHF’s work to advance health across our focus communities in Central Florida.
